139 Free Business Tools in One Open-Source Suite: Inside the VisionQuantech Business Suite

TL;DR: The VisionQuantech Business Suite is 139 free, open-source tools for Indian small businesses — GST and tax calculators, accounting, invoicing, HR and payroll, inventory, CRM, banking and cash-flow tools, pricing and tender utilities — all running 100% in the browser with no server, no signup, and no data leaving the user's device. Every tool follows a strict build contract (pure functions first, node-testable, XSS-safe rendering, encrypted local vault), the suite ships with 376 passing test assertions, and the architecture is a deliberate foundation for a bigger decentralized platform. It is working code today, not deployed yet, and the Pro and Enterprise API tiers are still roadmap.

The problem: India's SMEs run on fragmentation

A typical small business in India juggles a dozen disconnected tools: a GST calculator here, an invoice generator there, a salary sheet in Excel, a cash-flow guess in someone's head. The alternatives are either expensive SaaS subscriptions priced for Western markets, or single-purpose free tools that harvest your data. For a shop owner in Noida or a coaching center in Patna, the practical requirements are simple: it must work on a phone, it must work in Hindi or English, it must not upload sensitive financial data to a stranger's server, and it must cost nothing to try.

The Business Suite is built for exactly that shape of problem. One suite, 139 tools, one consistent interface, zero accounts. Your data never leaves the device it was typed on.

What it actually is

The repo (github.com/Shivay00001/vq-business-suite) holds 139 independent web apps organized into clusters: GST and tax, accounting, HR and payroll, inventory, CRM, invoicing and billing, loans and credit, profit analytics, cash and banking, documents, education and coaching, procurement, pricing and profit, tender and projects, risk and governance, platform utilities, and owner/legal dashboards. We read the actual repo tree — 410 files — to verify this, and the count is real: each tool is a folder under apps/<slug>/ containing an index.html, an app.js, and usually a README.md.

The suite landing page is index.html at the root. It renders a cluster tool-grid generated from core/apps.json — the registry every app must be registered in. A pricing.html page defines the tiers (Free vs. Pro ₹299/mo vs. Enterprise API), and api.html documents a future REST API. Both paid tiers are honestly labeled: Pro checkout is stubbed and the API is a waitlist — the backend for both is Phase 2.

How it works: 100% static, zero backend

The headline architectural decision is that the entire suite is static: HTML, vanilla JS, and CSS. No build step, no npm, no frameworks, no CDNs, no backend, no fetch calls to any server. It works when opened from file:// — double-click and go. That constraint is what makes the privacy story true: there is simply no server to send your data to.

Eight shared modules in core/ do the heavy lifting:

This maps, deliberately, onto a "U-STACK lite" described in ARCHITECTURE.md: identity, wallet (pricing tiers only), vault, permissions, work orchestration, developer platform, and sector clustering — each realized in a thin static form today with a documented upgrade path to server-backed versions later. It's a foundation poured on purpose, not an accident of simplicity.

Code-level: what a real tool looks like

Every app follows a mandatory contract: body[data-app], one <h1>, mobile-first, full SEO head, EN + Hindi FAQ blocks, two ad slots, the core scripts in a fixed order, and — the interesting part — pure functions first in app.js, exported via module.exports so they run under Node for testing. Browser UI code comes after. All user input is validated; all rendered output passes through an esc() HTML escaper (XSS-safe); file and paste inputs are size-capped client-side.

Take the cash-flow forecast tool, whose app.js we read in full:

function projectCashFlow(opening, entries, months) {
  // entries: [{type:'in'|'out', label, amount, recur:'once'|'monthly', start}]
  // Returns {rows:[{month,inflow,outflow,net,closing}],
  //          minBalance, minMonth, survivalMonths, neverNegative}
  ...
  var negIdx = -1;
  for (var i = 0; i < rows.length; i++) {
    if (rows[i].closing < 0) { negIdx = i; break; }
  }
  return {
    rows: rows, opening: open, months: months,
    minBalance: minBalance, minMonth: minMonth,
    survivalMonths: negIdx === -1 ? months : negIdx,
    neverNegative: negIdx === -1
  };
}

The same file contains summarize() (plain-language readout: "cash runs out in month 4 — cash lasts 3 full months"), a cashChartSVG() function that builds an accessible SVG line chart as a pure string — zero-line drawn, negative months flagged red — and fmtINR() for Indian number formatting. None of this touches the DOM, so the whole computation layer is unit-tested under Node.

Another example: the business-health-score-engine scores a business 0–100 across cash, profit, compliance, customers, and operations, then returns a grade plus the top 3 fixes. Statutory tools (GST, PF, ESI, gratuity, MSMED interest) use web-verified formulas with sources linked on-screen, and every advice-adjacent page states its assumptions and says "confirm with your CA." The suite's own contract forbids invented statistics — if a number appears, it was computed from user input.

Testing and hardening: verified, not vibes

The repo ships a tests/ directory with Node test suites per build team: 376 assertions, all passing, 0 failures. A 2026-09-26 hardening pass produced HARDENING.md — a security, cost, and abuse audit that found and fixed 2 real issues (uncapped file/paste inputs are now capped). ROADMAP.md separates the shipped Month-1 scope from Phase 2 platform builds. This is the kind of hygiene you rarely see in "139 tools" repos: the count is backed by per-app tests and a written audit trail.

How to run it

  1. Clone the repo: git clone https://github.com/Shivay00001/vq-business-suite.git
  2. Open index.html in any browser. That's it — it works from file://, no server needed.
  3. Pick a tool from the cluster grid. Everything runs locally; saved work stays in your browser's vault (≤25 items per app, optionally passphrase-encrypted).

To add a tool: create apps/<slug>/ with index.html + app.js following the contract (SEO head, body[data-app], script order, FAQ blocks), write pure functions first with module.exports, register it in core/apps.json, and add its test section. Run the suite with node tests/....

Honest status and roadmap

AspectStatus
139 tools, client-sideWorking — 376 test assertions passing, hardening audit complete
DeploymentNot deployed; launch checklist pending (static host, AdSense approval, Pro checkout link, Search Console sitemap)
Pro tier (₹299/mo)Defined; checkout stubbed — needs a payment link
Enterprise APIDocs written (api.html); backend is Phase 2 — waitlist only
Backend / cloud sync / OAuthRoadmap — the U-STACK upgrade paths in ARCHITECTURE.md

The honest read: this is a complete, working, well-tested client-side product that is one deployment away from serving users — but nothing is live, nothing is monetized, and the server-side future is documented intent, not code. If you're an SME owner, the free tier story is real the moment it's hosted. If you're a developer, the per-app contract makes it one of the more contribution-friendly static codebases we've seen: add a folder, follow the rules, register it, test it.

Frequently asked questions

Is the VisionQuantech Business Suite really free?
The Free tier is ₹0: all 139 tools, 20 uses per day each, ad-supported. Pro (₹299/month) removes ads and raises limits, but its checkout is not wired up yet — so today, everything that exists is free.

Does my business data leave my device?
No. The suite is 100% static with no backend calls, so there is no server to send data to. Saved work lives in your browser's local vault, optionally encrypted with AES-GCM under a passphrase you set.

Does it work on mobile phones?
Yes — mobile-first is part of the build contract: large touch targets, single-column layouts on small screens, and no app install required. It runs in any modern mobile browser.

Can developers add new tools to the suite?
Yes. Each tool is a folder under apps/ following a documented contract (SEO head, core script order, pure-functions-first app.js, registration in core/apps.json, tests). The repo is public and MIT-style contribution-friendly.

The bottom line

The VisionQuantech Business Suite is what happens when "tools for small businesses" is treated as an engineering problem rather than a landing-page problem: 139 real, tested, privacy-respecting tools with a coherent architecture underneath, honest about what's shipped and what's roadmap. The code is public at github.com/Shivay00001/vq-business-suite — open index.html and try the cash-flow forecaster. If you run an SME, watch for the hosted launch; if you build for SMEs, the per-app contract is worth studying.
